Attachment parenting gone wild

I have a high needs baby. I have taken all the checklist tests. It's confirmed. I may have made a terrible miscalculation. My attachment parenting style (aka I get no sleep style) means that we are attached all right. We are all night can't wean nursing attached. It's beautiful and exhausting. I want sleep but I enjoy my baby close to me. We reconnect after a day of being separated. Oh what to do?

Sooo Proud!

Well I did it! I ran the one year postpartum half marathon! I am so proud! I was so nervous. I had no real idea what my pace would be since I did all of my training with the bob stroller. I did better than I expected. With a little over two and a half hours. I have plans to run the turkey trot. Hubby and I will run it since the Halloween 5k we did together went well. I bought a weather cover for the bob that should help the baby stay nice and dry!

In Hiding

I have a half day of work today with veterans day! So I am hiding at my house! My pumpkin and my squash are at daycare and school. I might take a nap. That would be incredible! I am doing laundry at least. ;)

errands yuck!

Yesterday was my birthday. So today is anti-birthday. Back to laundry and errands. Fun. My extra special favorite is Secretary of State. It's awesome.
Anyway....we are off for a run. Which I am feeling zero motivation. This morning starts with some coffee.
Do you ever feel distant from god? I have heard it called a desert period. I feel like its one of those days. I am trying to take an honest look tonight to see if sin has crept its way I between us. I think it has. It's called selfishness. I have been frustrated with myself. I am praying god helps me to act like him. The last will be first. I need to stop being a frustrated Martha.

Well Hello Fall

I can't believe it's the end of Summer! Yikes! My big goal was to start blogging again as a diary of keeping me and my family on track. We got bad news with my older sons BMI so it's time to get back on track. No excuses. Hubby and I have been training to run walk the Detroit Free Press Marathon but I am going to be all alone on the training run this morning. Ugh. He says his foot is broken but I think it's because he's a wimp that played video games too late with the boys. We have five in the house right now with our sleepover and the baby. I am so out numbered. Anyway I am super excited bc for my birthday I got a nifty bike and trailer so I can pull pumpkin around town! Just what I wanted!
Hopefully older son and I can have some nice fall bike rides. As soon as we fix his chain this weekend! Now happening......

Monday Monday

I am off work all week. I am so excited to spend some time doing the things I love. This week I am going to......
Try a new cookie recipe.
Build my fitness base.
Get to the farmers market on Saturday
Read (just finished hunger games, would like to read book number two)
Get some more meals in my mix of dinners
Organize my house a bit
Get approved for a mortgage
Look at houses
Read my Bible
Listen to some sermons I have missed
Pumpkins doctors appt. for six months
Try Christian yoga

Today I started the day with an apple, a couple of pieces of smoked Gouda, and a protein muffin from Trader Joe's.

Lunch was my favorite pasta. I make a pasta dish with Trader Joe's Soy Chorizo, onions, green peppers, tomato sauce, and Parmesan cheese. Its so yummy. I am addicted to this Chorizo. It also makes great chili, and also is great in the morning with eggs and potatoes. Its great!

Dinner was a traditional taco salad (lettus, tomato, cheese, Doritos, western dressing)  with Morningstar crumbles instead of beef. It was a quick easy one.

This afternoon we attempted to go rollerblading but it started to rain half way so we left. It was fun for the 20 minutes or so that we got to be on the trail.

My hubby and I are working out a bet so that both of us can lose weight faster. We are working out the terms of the arrangement. I am thinking that we will have to do some sort of percentage based weight loss bet because if we went pound for pound its just not fair. He is a man so we have to do a Biggest Loser style system. I will totally beat him. He has no willpower when it comes to goodies.

Today was fun! Pumpkin and I went for a three mile jog with the Bobb stroller. We took the dog and he actually behaved. It was amazing and weird. We had some firsts today like first sweet potato tasting, and first bath in the big tub! We ate at the Quarter Bistro in Ann Arbor. It was a decent brunch. I enjoyed the time with my family. Especially my brother who is leaving soon for Afghanistan.

Now that the weather is getting warmer we are finally getting back out there. I really want to take advantage of the summer this year and try to train for a marathon. I am really nervous though because the last half I did was not a great experience. I picked a way to hard, way too hot, course and I was unprepared. I also did not properly hydrate during the run and my body was hit afterwards. I will not make that mistake again. I think that a good plan would be to try to train for some halfs this year. That way I can do it right and not feel so nervous.

Running again

I went on my first long run today. It was looong. Four miles at a very slow 12 mph pace. Its not like I am speedy normally but it felt like four miles took forever. My legs felt like they were weighted and every muscle is still hurting.
